Purchase Items
|
Your
shopping cart is where you place items you want to purchase. As with shopping
in a grocery store, you can always remove an item if you change your mind. Our
virtual shopping cart even takes it a step further. You can leave the store at
any time with items still in your cart; when you come back your cart will be
waiting for you with all items still in place.
Viewing your shopping cart
You can
view your shopping cart at any time by clicking on the shopping cart icon in
the right-hand corner of your top navigation panel. You can also find "View
Shopping Cart" on the bottom navigation panel.
Placing an item in your
cart
Placing an
item in your cart is as simple as a click of the mouse. Just click on the
shopping cart icon that appears to the right of the item name on the product
description page. You'll be taken immediately to the shopping cart. If you
already have an account with SHOP.com, your items will be stored here in your
shopping cart until you a) remove them manually b) save them for later c) the
item becomes unavailable, or d) you complete the Checkout process. If you do
not have an account with us your items will stay in the shopping cart during
your active shopping session. If you leave without creating an account you may
have to add these items over again upon a return visit.
Selecting color and size
options for a product
Some items
require that the shopper make specific choices such as color or size before the
item is added to your cart. Click on the Add to Cart And Select Options button
on the product page, make your option selections and add the item to your cart
by clicking on the Add to Shopping Cart button.
Making changes
Our
shopping cart provides you with ordering information about the item or items
that you wish to purchase. It also lets you make some changes to your order
specifications. If you want to make changes to any of your items such as
quantity or size just click on Change Options button to the right of your item
in the shopping cart.
Removing an item from your
cart
If you
want to remove an item from your cart, simply click on Remove to the right of
the item in the Options column. This will remove the item from your cart. For
multiple item removals at once, you may change the Quantity field in the
shopping cart to "0", and click the Update button at the bottom of your Shopping
Cart Items to Buy Now box.
Saving items for later
purchase
You don't
have to purchase all the items in your shopping cart at once. If you prefer to
purchase some items at a later time, click on "Save for Later" to the right of
the item in the Options column. Your saved item will relocate to the "Saved
Items To Buy Later" area further down on your page. This area looks and acts
just like your shopping cart. However, before you can purchase an item stored
in this area you must move it back to the shopping cart by clicking on "Move To
Cart" to the right of the item in the Options column.
To continue shopping from
your cart
If you're
not ready to checkout, you can continue shopping by clicking on the "Continue
Shopping" button. For your convenience, your items will remain in your cart
until you remove them or make your purchase. If you're ready to finalize your
purchase, click on the "Checkout" button to be taken to the checkout area.
Checkout
The
checkout process takes place in four quick steps: Validate, Ship To, Payment,
and Send Order.
1. Validate
The first step in the checkout process is to validate your account. You will be
asked to supply your SHOP.com password. Next, you will be asked whether you
want to proceed through standard or express checkout. For more information on
Express Checkout, see below. Once you've completed these steps, click Continue.
2. Ship To
In the Shipping area you can have the possibility of two choices. If you're
purchasing single quantity items from one merchant you will see your address
book listings. Just click on your desired ship-to address by clicking the Ship
to This Address and Continue button. If you need to enter a new one just click
on the Enter New Address button in the top right area or the same link at the
top. Once you've entered just select it in your list to continue.
If you're purchasing from more than one merchant then you can use the pull down
menus to select your shipping address and shipping method. If you only have one
shipping address we will use that by default. If you've entered multiple
shipping addresses in your address book, then you can select the one you
prefer. If you wish to add a new address then click on "Add a New address" to
the right of the "Ship to" menu. To view shipping charges, click on "See
shipping charges for this merchant" just below the "Ship via" pull down menu.
Once you've made your shipping choices, click on Continue to move to the
payment section.
3. Payment
As you enter into the payment area you will be asked if you have a coupon,
discount or gift certificate code to claim. If you have a claim code, enter it
in the Claim Code entry box. When you are ready to proceed, click Continue. You
will now be asked to choose from the available payment methods. If you have a
credit card on file, you can select that card. If you don't have a card on file
or want to use another card, fill in the requested credit card information. You
can choose whether you want your credit card information to be saved. If you
don't want your credit card information to be saved, click on the checkmarked
box next to "save this card on file" to remove the checkmark. Click Continue to
go to the Send Order area.
4. Send Order
The Confirm Order area shows you all the final information about your purchase.
This includes your shipping information, your item names and numbers, the grand
total, including shipping and any sales tax, and your payment method. After
carefully reviewing your order accuracy, you can select the "Submit Order"
button to finalize your purchase. However, you are not committed to a purchase
at this point. Clicking on the "return to your shopping cart" link will return
you to your shopping cart where you can make further changes.
Express Checkout
To make
purchasing even easier, we've provided you with an express checkout option.
Express checkout will pull the preferred billing, shipping and payment
information from your existing account so you can skip the checkout process
altogether. If you want to use express checkout, simply click on the "Express
Checkout" button under "choose a checkout aisle" in the validation area of
checkout.
